Title:Senior Data Center Architect
Location: Remote
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include design install, and support server, network, virtualization, and hyper-converged solutions provided. Assist in Pre-Sales and post-sales activities including, but not limited to; installation, configuration, design, and consulting expertise with networking and server virtualization technologies including VMware suite, vSAN, NSX, servers and blade servers and hyper-converged solutions. Provide successful assessments, deployments, upgrades, knowledge transfer and documentation to some of Sterling’s most strategic customers. Technical certifications for the above technologies and a diverse background in supporting enterprise IT datacenters, highly desired.
- Work with Sales, Presales, and Delivery teams to assess, plan, design, deploy, and document server, network, virtualization, and hyper-converged solutions into customer networks.
- Demonstrated assessment, planning, designing, and deploying competencies.
- Demonstrated planning, designing, and deploying competencies with systems such as VMware vSphere products for software defined datacenters including vSAN, NSX, vRealize suite, and Site Recovery Manager for disaster recovery.
- Some exposure to automation platforms and techniques such as VMware vRA/vRO
- Experience with virtualization technologies with various vendor hardware, such as Dell, HPE and Cisco UCS.
The ideal candidate can address all the previously mentioned technologies, speak to them professionally, plan for and implement these solutions, document to DoD standards the finalized deployments, and hand-off to the customer in collaboration with the project team.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of VMware design, implementation, administration & troubleshooting experience
- Excellent analytical ability and communications skills

- Time-management skills
- Customer service skills and experience
- Strong organization abilities
- Eligible for DoD clearance
