We are seeking a Senior   Cyber Operations Analyst to support a large Federal agency. This senior/expert level position is broadly supporting multiple functions of a comprehensive Security Operations Center (SOC) including monitoring & analysis, digital media analysis, vulnerability assessment, incident response, and cyber threat hunting.   While this opportunity is contingent upon contract award, we'd like to talk with you very soon! This opportunity offers hybrid flexibility within the DMV (DC/MD/VA) Metro area.
What You'll Do
    • Provide senior/expert-level expertise, technical depth, and wisdom gained from years of hands-on experience immersed in Cyber Operations and analysis in support of full-spectrum Security Operations Center (SOC) activities.
    • Act as liaison between SOC teams, sub-component organizations, and external partners.
    • Provide senior/expert-level technical leadership and direct execution of mission functions across all the areas of:
    • SOC monitoring and analysis (IDS/IPS, EDR, SIEM, etc.)
    • Digital Media Analysis (forensic media/device analysis, malware reverse-engineering, etc.)
    • Vulnerability Assessment (scanning, analysis, mitigation/remediation, reporting, etc.)
    • Incident Response
    • Cyber Threat Hunting
    • Coordinate incident response efforts, ensuring thorough investigation and remediation, and maintain communication with stakeholders.
    • Provide cyber hunt services to proactively detect, isolate, and neutralize advanced threats.
    • Continuously build, adapt, enhance, and optimize processes and procedures.
    • Provide mentorship and direction to other analysts.
Education + Experience

    • A successful candidate is likely to have a strong academic background focused on the theory and scientific foundations of all modern cyber technology, as well as extensive practical experience operating and leading teams in SOC environments across multiple functional areas.
    • A successful candidate can work without direction, showing initiative and innovation in delivering value across all functional areas of the SOC organization.   They will be highly adaptable and effective at communicating across all level of leadership, technical operators/analysts, and partners.
Security Clearance
    • U.S. Citizenship required
    • Ability to achieve Public Trust or higher
Preferred Certifications
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
    • GIAC Defending Advanced Threats (GDAT)
    • GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA)
    • GIAC Certified Detection Analyst (GCDA)
    • GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
    • GIAC Certified Forensics Examiner/Analyst (GCFE/GSFA)
    • GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM)
    • Splunk Core Certified User (Splunk Core CU) / Certified Power User (Splunk CPU)
