Job Summary:

As the Senior Creative Strategist specializing in Direct Response TV (DRTV and CTV) with fundraising expertise, you will play a pivotal role in shaping successful strategies for a renowned non-profit client. We are seeking an experienced and strategic creative leader who can develop a vision for video storytelling, direct a team of creative writers and producers in crafting concepts and writing scripts, drive impactful storytelling, and oversee the production of compelling TV campaigns. This role is based in Lanham, Maryland and is also remote eligible for the right candidate!

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in producing nonprofit direct response TV. This client-facing position will have you developing strategies, writing creative concepts, pitching to clients, supervising writers, executing campaigns, reviewing various stages of TV production, interviewing story subjects, directing the occasional TV production, and interfacing/collaborating with various agencies' teams who develop the omnichannel communications for this client.

This is a fast-paced, challenging and inspiring position that will have you working with one of the largest and most impactful nonprofits in the U.S. - and partnering with the most experienced creatives in the non-profit world. Should understand audience-first strategies across channels - although your main focus is one channel. Must be able to work across teams of experts to deliver on-strategy campaigns.

This Senior Creative Strategist role requires strong writing and communication skills, a strategic mindset, and a desire to craft and deliver innovative, integrated fundraising and brand-building strategies for our client. You will manage a team who will develop breakthrough ideas that are driven by insight, founded on strategy, and align with our client's goals.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide visionary leadership to the creative team, fostering an environment of innovation and collaboration.
  • Develop and communicate a compelling creative vision aligned with the client's goals.
  • Spearhead the development of DRTV campaigns from concept to execution, ensuring alignment with fundraising objectives.
  • Utilize your extensive knowledge of DRTV best practices to optimize campaign performance.
  • Bring a deep understanding of fundraising principles and strategies to drive successful campaigns.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate fundraising goals into the overall creative strategy.
  • Leverage your expertise in copywriting to create impactful scripts and compelling storytelling.
  • Uphold high standards of quality and creativity in all creative outputs, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments to maintain excellence in creative deliverables.
  • Lead and optimize project workflows while maintaining a keen eye on timelines, budgets, and overall project excellence.
  • Mentor and inspire creative team members, fostering their professional growth and skill development.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to elevate the team's capabilities in DRTV and fundraising creative.
  • Leverage your client management experience to cultivate strong relationships and understand client expectations.
  • If bilingual, utilize language proficiency to enhance communication and engagement, especially in Spanish-speaking markets.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 10 years' experience as a creative lead
  • Proven experience as a Creative Director or similar leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing Direct Response TV campaigns with a focus on fundraising.
  • Strong background in copywriting and video production.
  • Excellent mentoring and team-building skills.
  • Experience in managing a team of creatives.
  • Client management experience (optional but preferred).
  • Use of AI and emerging technologies is a huge bonus.
  • Bilingual/Spanish speaking proficiency (optional but preferred).
