Blue Ridge Power is looking to hire a Senior Cost Control Analyst. The Senior Cost Control Analyst is responsible for collecting and analyzing complex financial information related to project expenses. The Senior Cost Control Analyst will be seeking ways to improve accuracy of budgets and forecasts and to decrease the cost of departments and projects.
What You'll Do
- Reports to the Project Controls Director and performs duties without assistance.
- Ability to Create Project Work Breakdown Structures.
- Leads more junior cost analyst.
- Ability to Generate Project Cost Report
- Proficient in Data Management
- Review and analyze project cost and ensure cost is correctly coded to the correct project and corresponding budgets in accordance with project Work Breakdown Structures.
- Prepare Job Cost Adjustment (JCAs) entries to correct miscoded cost.
- Evaluate unbudgeted cost and escalate through the change management process. Unbudgeted cost should result in a project cost deviation (internal) or potential change order (external).
- Prepare necessary schedules to analyze cost components (e.g., Labor, supplies, permanent materials, subcontracts, equipment etc.).
- Analyze historical project cost, change management, schedule, internal and external risk factors that indicate financial direction of the project to produce total estimate at completion forecasts.
- Lead Project Cost Reviews with Project & Cost Control Management.
- Other duties as directed.
Must-Haves
- 6+ years of experience in project controls, accounting, or finance related field.
- Strong computer skills, including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Education and Certifications
- Accredited 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance.
Working Environment and Physical Demand
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- This is a remote role with a 10% travel expectation.
- Position has opportunity to be remote.
- Preferably a candidate near our office locations in Asheville or Fayetteville, NC.
- Position works in an "office-type" environment.
