Job description

At Jacobs, we challenge what is currently accepted, so we can shape innovative and lasting solutions for tomorrow. Through the delivery of our operations and maintenance services, you'll make it simpler and more seamless for our municipal clients to operate safely and efficiently, empowering communities to focus on what matters most to them - people.
We have a career opportunity for a Senior Corrosion Control Engineer in California. In this position, you'll lead and deliver Jacobs services in corrosion control studies, designs, construction support, and condition assessments of water, wastewater, treatment, storage, and conveyance projects.
Jacobs is ranked #1 in the world by ENR for water/wastewater treatment and conveyance design. We develop and deliver engineering solutions for a wide range of infrastructure projects and seek an individual with the knowledge, experience, and commitment to integrate corrosion control in our services. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to mainstream projects as well as help solve unique and challenging engineering problems for our clients. Working independently and in coordination with a national corrosion control team, you'll apply your knowledge and develop your expertise.
While delivering Jacobs' corrosion control projects, you'll have the opportunity to specialize and focus on becoming a true SME in the technologies that align with your interests.
Know that:
• You can take your career wherever you want it to go within the corrosion field
• You will have the time to focus with clients and project teams on the technical issues, and not worry about general project manager duties.
• You will be supported in your continued education via obtaining NACE certifications and attending conferences.
• You will have the opportunity to build a team around yourself to support client needs in Northern California
As a Senior Corrosion Control Engineer at Jacobs, you'll use your skills and experience in cathodic protection, protective coatings and linings, materials selection, and condition assessments to support our projects. You will analyze the corrosivity of the environment, perform field tests and surveys, develop alternatives for corrosion control within established design criteria, design the preferred corrosion control systems, specify materials and coatings, and support construction. You will also support business development by meeting with clients and contributing to project proposals.

  • Bachelors or Masters in appropriate engineering field.
  • At least 8 years of corrosion control experience.
  • NACE Certifications appropriate to your specialty and level of experience.
  • California Professional Engineering license.
  • Residing in or moving to CA.
  • Ability to commute throughout Northern CA 25% during the week.
  • AMPP 4 Certification preferred. May also consider strong AMPP 3 level certification moving toward AMPP 4 in the near future.

Ideally, You'll Have Work Experience in Multiple Areas of Corrosion Control Technology:
• Cathodic protection system planning, design, operation, and analysis
• Protective coatings and linings specification, inspection, and evaluation
• Materials selection including corrosion-resistant metals, thermal plastics, and elastomers
• Buried pipeline corrosion control and condition assessment
• Water and wastewater treatment plant corrosion control
• Storage tank corrosion control
• Condition assessment of facilities affected by corrosion
• Familiarity with inline inspection and integrity management techniques
Jacobs' health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about. Your health. Your well-being. Your security. Your future. Employees have access to medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discount. Eligible employees may also enroll in a deferred compensation plan or the Executive Deferral Plan. Jacobs has an unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) policy for full-time salaried/exempt employees, seven paid holidays, one floating holiday, and caregiver leave. And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock.
The base salary range for this position is $125,300 to 195,700. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
