Position: Sr. Contracts Manager – HV/BESS

 

Location: Nashville, TN or Remote

 

Overview: The Sr. Contracts Manager is responsible for leading all phases of sourcing, including, partnering with stakeholders, market analysis, vendor selection, RFI/RFP, and awarding contracts. Sr. Contracts Manager must also identify and deliver cost savings while maximizing spend. Additionally, the Sr. Contracts Manager will be instrumental in developing and implementing a formalized sourcing process and associated procedures.

We are looking for an ambitious candidate with initiative and resilience who can be responsible in working towards a goal while contributing creatively to the team.

 

Main Responsibilities: 

• Manage the contracting and sourcing process
• Maximize spend under impact through developing stakeholder partnerships
• Responsible for vendor negotiations
• Develop “win-win” strategies that achieve sustainable relationships with vendors
• Manage communications to business partners, vendors, and other stakeholders, as necessary
• Continuously improve productivity and efficiency of processes within the team
• Perform other duties as assigned
  
• Manage and mentor staff encouraging professional growth & development
• Establish sourcing policies and ensure compliance within the department
• Create value-added spend analysis to support decision-making
• Perform market analysis and identify vendors to inform sourcing strategy
• Achieve cost savings goals through competitive bids or strategic negotiations

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position may have up to two (2) direct reports in Sourcing Specialist Roles.

Reporting: This position reports to our Sourcing Director

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5-10 years of related experience
• Working knowledge of EPC contracts, specifically for HV Substation and BESS scopes
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
• Willing to work with processes and systems that are evolving and subject to change
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must have a continuous improvement approach
• Must be self-motivated and resourceful
  

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Logistics, or in a related field

Experience:

• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills both written and oral
• Decision making ability
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Strong customer service skills with focus on listening to the customer
• Ability to conduct negotiations with vendors
• Working knowledge of engineering design, procurement, and construction practices and procedures
• Working knowledge of office productivity software such as MS-Office suite, including advanced use of MS-Excel
• Multi-contract execution experience
• Solar Industry experience a plus

Technical: Exposure or experience to the US renewable energy and Energy Storage market beneficial.
