We're seeking a Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our team and lead initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity, efficiency, and overall operational performance at our West Coast Distribution Centers.
You'll be at the forefront of developing and maintaining accurate engineered standards, ensuring they align seamlessly with our operational needs and objectives. Your role will extend to establishing and upholding "Best Methods" across all job functions, providing essential training to our management and hourly workforce to drive productivity and efficiency. You'll be pivotal in analyzing existing work methods, flows, and processes, proposing, and implementing enhancements to increase throughput and operational efficiency. Spearheading the exploration and testing of innovative concepts to optimize distribution center flow and setup, you'll identify key opportunities for improvement and develop enhanced reporting metrics to track performance and facilitate decision-making. Collaborating closely with our operations team, you'll devise tactical and strategic tools aligned with our business objectives, supporting the design and integration of material handling equipment within our distribution center network.
A Day in the Life:
- Establish and uphold "Best Methods" for all job functions, providing training to both management and hourly workforce to enhance productivity and efficiency; Analyze existing work methods, flows, and processes, proposing and implementing enhancements to increase throughput and operational efficiency.
- Spearhead the exploration and testing of innovative concepts to optimize distribution center flow and setup.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement and develop enhanced reporting metrics to track performance and facilitate decision-making.
- Collaborate with operations to devise tactical and strategic tools that align with business objectives and drive operational excellence.
- Provide support in the design and integration of material handling equipment within the distribution center network, ensuring alignment with operational needs.
- Assist in capital projects by conducting cost-benefit analyses, providing justification, and overseeing implementation to support business objectives.
- Drive expense and throughput improvement initiatives through comprehensive needs assessment, workflow analysis, and project implementation.
- Utilize project management methodologies to plan, coordinate, and execute assigned tasks, delivering measurable results within defined timelines.
- Foster collaborative partnerships with external resources, including consultants and contractors, to leverage expertise and meet business requirements effectively.
- Champion a Continuous Improvement mindset, implementing productivity initiatives such as Daily Management Boards, 5S, Routines, and PDCA to drive efficiency and performance.
You'll Come With:
- Minimum of 4-8 years of experience in projects related to process and material handling systems design, work measurement, productivity improvement, cost reduction and project implementation
- Experience in best methods development and implementation
- Experience in the development and maintenance of a management observation program
- Experience in the development and maintenance of an accountability program
- Experience with productivity tracking, data collection systems
- Experience with Standard Data and Predetermined Time Systems
- Experience performing cost analysis for project justification
