Your Job

Are you interested in helping transform the world, one product at a time? At Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products, we are too. We work to remove barriers so everyone can achieve their full potential and work together to improve the things that make like great.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Consumer Sensory Scientist in our consumer products division at our Neenah Technical Center (NTC) in Neenah, WI. We are looking for someone to join our product development team to research consumer perception, behavior, sensory experience, and preferences so product developers can unlock differentiation in their products and optimize the user experience, resulting in compelling claims and superior product performance. We are seeking an individual who can make an impact and then grow to greater levels of responsibility over time.

Our Team

NTC is the central site for research, development, and lab services for Georgia-Pacific's North American Consumer Products business. Our consumer brands are household names throughout North America - Angel Soft® bath tissue, Brawny® paper towels, Dixie® plates and bowls, and many others. We also produce products such as tissue, towel, soap and napkins products and dispenser for commercial markets. This means you and everyone you know interact with our products daily.

  • Support a wide range of sensory studies including category benchmarking, consumer preference studies, shelf-life studies and descriptive analysis as needed. Become familiar with the range of sensory profiles and attributes seen in products across the category.
  • Develop study protocols, screeners, questionnaires, and stimulus, including guidance for product preparation and handling, to maintain consistency and accuracy in data collection. Liaises with external research vendors on study parameters and elevates issues.
  • Establish and coordinate Consumer Sensory panels, including recruitment and training of panelists, monitoring panel performance and vendor capabilities and continuous improvement to ensure robust and accurate panels and data
  • Transform data into insights to drive decisions. You will easily flow between generating simple cross-tabs for some customers to explaining advanced predictive data modeling to others.
  • Work closely as part of an integrated team of product developers to optimize user experiences, identify meaningful points of product differentiation, and translate those insights into market-relevant claims.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher (B.A. or B.S.) in Psychology, Data Analytics, Sensory Science, Data Science, Food Science, Consumer Science, Research or Statistics
  • Experience with consumer study design and analysis
  • Experience applying statistical software to data analysis and insight activities
  • Experience presenting plans and findings to a wide variety of stakeholders

What Will Put You Ahead

  • At least five years of experience in a role researching consumer behaviors
  • Experience leading groups of people through complex data analysis and interpretation
  • Advanced degree in Data Analytics, Experimental Psychology, Sensory Science or Consumer Science
  • Experience with consumer product development, insights, and/or marketing
