Senior Computer & Software Engineer - LabVIEW Experience Required

MUST HAVE LABVIEW EXPERIENCE. Please do NOT apply if you do not have LabVIEW, FPGA, and embedded systems experience

JOB SUMMARY

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain test equipment software using LabVIEW and other platforms. You will also contribute to embedded software and FPGA development for various products and projects. You should have strong experience in LabVIEW programming, embedded systems, and FPGA design.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop real-time applications on ARM-class microcontrollers with or without an OS
• Implement PC-based applications to visualize or process data using Python, C/C++, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and other tools
• Design, develop, test, and debug test equipment software in LabVIEW and other platforms
• Maintain and upgrade existing test equipment software and hardware
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with test equipment performance and functionality
• Produce coherent documentation for software and hardware
• Participate in code reviews
• Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders on requirements and specifications
• Research and evaluate new technologies and solutions for test equipment development
• Write scripts or other programs to automate tasks
• Instantiate logic designs in an FPGA using Verilog, VHDL, or LabVIEW FPGA

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Proficient in LabVIEW programming and NI hardware (sbRIO, DAQ, etc.)
• CLD LabVIEW certification is preferred
• Experience with non-NI test equipment solutions
• Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Experience with FPGA development outside of LabVIEW is a plus
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in embedded software development.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Software Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience in test equipment engineering

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
