POSITION SUMMARY

Develops networks through business development and sales activities which promote profitable growth, developing and enhancing brand reputation and ensuring customer retention. These activities include calling on prospective and existing customers, coordinating and staffing bank sponsored events and actively participating in community organizations and boards. Service and maintain a portfolio of a variety of COMMERCIAL LOAN accounts. Interview, assess and analyze prospective loan clients and their financial position. Establish new business loans and deposit prospects through sales calls, networking and referral base. Grant new loans according to bank guidelines and loan policy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop and sustain long-term relationships with key Sioux Falls business and organizational entities.
- Align specific calling strategies with bank priorities and needs
- Cross-sell cash management products to existing customers
- Strategize with the Marketing Team to identify appropriate bank sponsored events, including: Bank hosted community/customer appreciation cookouts, collegiate new student orientations, professional trade shows, customer-based annual meetings, special events, and volunteer-required events and other fundraisers. Coordinate the development of the event, including location, logistics, materials and supplies, required permits, and vendor orders.
- Collects and analyzes financial and related data in order to determine the credit worthiness of the borrower within the parameters of the bank’s loan policies. Establishes and negotiates the terms under which credit will be granted to comply with loan underwriting guidelines.
- Solicits business from new & existing customers; actively seeks out, identifies and solicits COMMERCIAL LOAN business consistent with the bank’s objectives to increase the COMMERCIAL LOAN portfolio.
- Ensures proper loan documentation is executed to provide the bank with a valid promissory note and security interest in collateral.
- Manages individual loan portfolio including collections and restructuring of problem loans.
- Reviews existing loan portfolio for documentation exceptions and periodic financial statements.
- Refer clients and prospects to “non-bank” investment, insurance and mortgage related services.
- Performs other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- College degree in business related field preferred.
- Ten (10) years of Commercial lending experience required.
- Strong sales skill set.
- Previous credit experience beneficial.
- Comprehensive skill set in the use of the following software applications: Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Dale Carnegie sales training beneficial.
- Commercial loan experience required
