Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

The Senior System Engineer is responsible for administering and monitoring the company’s core IT infrastructure systems as well as the security of the systems and safeguarding of the data contained therein. This includes the managed server and AWS infrastructure for data processing, firewalls, intrusion detection/protection and SIEM systems, data storage systems, and Virtualization Infrastructure.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Sets up and maintains AWS cloud server environments

· Develops and implements information assurance/security standards and procedures.

· Optimize cloud applications for performance, uptime, and scaling.

· Perform daily, weekly, monthly maintenance tasks on our AWS cloud based infrastructure.

· Perform daily, weekly, monthly maintenance tasks for our main IT internal applications

· Work with IT development & Product management to build, configure and maintain cloud based infrastructure.

· Identifies, reports, and resolves any Cloud Infrastructure issues

· Analyzes general information assurance-related technical problems and provides basic engineering and technical support in solving these problems

· Ensures that all information systems are functional and secure.

· Create and maintain documentation for critical infrastructure systems such as SOP’s and Change Control Documentation

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Infrastructure Development or System Operations position

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Knowledge in selecting appropriate AWS service based on business, technical, and security requirements

· 3+ years Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Server, Microsoft IIS

· AWS cloud administration experience, with focus on IaaS and PaaS services

· Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail

· Familiarity with infrastructure and cloud operational best practices, preferred 2+ years’ experience

· Experience with AWS automation, preferred 3+ years in automation of provisioning / management of cloud resources

· Experience managing Windows and Linux servers, preferred 5+ years

· Effectively manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize conflicting assignments, and switch between tasks quickly

· Knowledge of M365 platform and management

· Understanding of Cloud DevSecOps

· Experience in implementing various security hardening features to ensure compliance with various compliance and IT frameworks.

· Ability to work remotely.

· Preferred AWS SysOps Admin Certification

· Experience in the field of information and infrastructure security

· Experience maintaining web-based technologies, such as databases, application servers, web servers

· Experience with comprehensive cloud architecture and operations with AWS, Google Cloud, or other public cloud environment (experience migrating datacenter systems to public cloud preferred)

· Extensive knowledge and experience with a broad range of infrastructure, virtualization, storage, disaster recovery and datacenter systems, networking, security policies, database systems, etc.

· Self-driven and highly motivated

· Ability to work independently and in a team environment

· Senior level understanding of windows operating system and networking (TCP/IP)

· Understanding of security threats and vulnerabilities

· Familiarity with security tools and technologies
