Description:
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer consultant with expertise in Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or other cloud architectures to join the OSC Division of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Cloud Administration and Support Team (CAST). This is a full-time, onsite position based in Albany, NY, with a contract duration of 24 months.
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer consultant with expertise in Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or other cloud architectures to join the OSC Division of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Cloud Administration and Support Team (CAST). This is a full-time, onsite position based in Albany, NY, with a contract duration of 24 months.
Day-to-Day Tasks:
- Assist in maturing the agency's cloud governance and policies.
- Gather requirements and information from technical teams for plans for cloud development.
- Aid technical teams in evaluating and targeting applications/servers for migration to the cloud.
- Assist in creating monitoring and alerting rules/practices.
- Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve cloud vulnerabilities.
- Assist with the migration of on-prem software into Azure.
- Assist with the migration of OCI IaaS into Azure.
- Troubleshoot and/or assist with providing support for Cloud-related products.
- Regularly review existing cloud solutions and make recommendations for improvements where needed.
Mandatory Qualification:
- Cloud Engineer
- Applies engineering disciplines to cloud computing, bringing a systematic approach to concerns of commercialization, standardization, and governance of cloud computing applications. Leverages the methods and tools of engineering in conceiving, developing, operating, and maintaining cloud computing systems and solutions. Uses the economics of cloud resources to solve business problems.
- Skill Level: Senior (60 - 84 months of experience)
Requested Qualifications:
- 60 months of experience in Cloud Architecture.
- 60 months of experience in the administration of a Cloud Infrastructure.
- 60 months of experience in Technical Documentation.
- 36 months of experience in implementing/refining Cloud Governance.
- 36 months of experience in Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
