RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Cloud Architect will propose cloud solutions in accordance with customer objectives and mission needs. You will provide guidance and recommendations in support of a cloud-based hybrid computing environment. Migration, governance, and management are key areas of interest of the Government customer and using your experience and expert knowledge, you will be expected to help them navigate the challenges and expectations that naturally arise with these cloud efforts.

• Evangelize methodologies for building and operating highly available, scalable cloud services
• Provide expertise on reducing and resolving production incidents (e.g. Site Reliability Engineering)
• Lead cloud teams to develop solutions designed to improve cloud operations and associated processes
• Establish yourself as a trusted agent providing expert advice and guidance in support of customer objectives
• Evaluate, build and modify automation for deploying and operating production services
• Create, assess, update and maintain documentation pertaining to Product Lines
• Develop and design elastic, resilient and self-healing Cloud native applications
• Crafting excellent documentation for respective projects and carrying ownership for the code and the instructional tutorials of how to use it
• Work with team members to design, architect, and implement solutions across geographic locations
• Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 20 years directly related hands-on experience
• Bachelor's degree with 15 years of directly related hands-on experience with at least 5 years of Cloud related experience OR
• Master's degree with 10 years of directly related hands-on experience OR
• PhD with 5 years of directly related hands-on experience
• Relevant cloud certification(s)

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Experience with Java, Python, and PostgreSQL
• Experience working in a robust Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) environment
• Understanding of and experience with commercially available cloud computing services such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) and emerging cloud services
• Experience with decomposing large monolithic applications into cloud based microservice architectures
• Knowledge of cloud strategy development, adoption of commercial cloud best practices,
• solutions architecture, and application and data migration
• Ability to provide recommendations for cloud strategy development, adoption of commercial cloud best practices, solutions architecture, and application and data migration
• Ability to perform and document detailed analyses to support assessing and developing architectural mitigations to maintain overall capability performance requirements
• Understanding of NIST/FedRAMP security controls and design, architecture, implementation, migration, testing, and assessing of AWS, Azure, or similar in applying Federal requirements to implement cloud solutions
• Understanding of industry standards, guidelines, and regulatory and compliance requirements related to information security and cloud computing, such as ISO 27001, CSA, NIST 800-53, PCI DSS, or SOC2
• Experience with Intelligence Community cloud operations
• Experience with development environments including Java, Angular, Wildfly, Openshift, Docker, Jenkins, Git, Redmine, Artifactory, Postgres 10, various Cloud technologies (such as S3 and ElastiCache), Oracle, and Weblogic
