40 Hours/Week
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 6:00pm, 4-10 Hour Shifts
Hybrid, Onsite 2 days/week
On-Call Rotation
Travel Required

Summary:


The Sr. Clinical Informatics Specialist provides insight, support, and training to the application of informatics and information technology, including clinical documentation, to deliver and improve healthcare services with the clinical team.

Responsibilities:


1. Has advanced knowledge of informatics and clinical work and serves as Subject Matter Expert to implement, oversee, and maintain clinical systems and applications for organization as a clinical staff representative

2. Interacts directly with management and users to analyze and specify clinical application requirements and to recommend adjustments to system or workflow for better outcomes.

3. Leads multidisciplinary committees or work groups, in partnership with Information Services and clinical staff, ensuring deadlines and projects are met.

4. Works independently with little need for supervision to assist and guide clinical staff with problem-solving, testing, training, and usage of clinical systems.

5. Participates in discovery and evaluation of new or replacement clinical systems

6. Shares expertise and facilitates team interactions to achieve objectives with peers across departments

7. Develops training materials to assist other team members or end users

8. Other duties as required.

Other information:


Technical Expertise

1. Strong clinical background with experience in hospital clinical workflows and operations.

2. Strong organization, analysis and problem-solving skills, required, with an emphasis on attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with flexibility in adapting to various assignments, project changes and deadlines while remaining productive.

3. Good interpersonal skills with a friendly, customer service focused demeanor and ability to communicate clearly and deliver public speaking presentations.

4. Experience with Microsoft One Drive or similar software required.

5. Experience in providing training in both information services and clinical workflow

6. Must possess a thorough knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards.

7. Experience working with various roles and levels within an organization is preferred.

8. Experience in healthcare is required

Education and Experience

1. Education: Bachelor’s required, graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Master’s with focus on healthcare business or informatics, preferred

2. Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio. Certification in clinical, healthcare, or nursing informatics, desired.

3. Years of relevant experience: 5 years or greater in clinical, 2 or more in Informatics work

4. Years of experience supervising: None
