Senior Center Aide

CLOSINGDATE: Open until Filled

PAY RATE: $12.41 - $14.89 (depending on qualifications)

SCHEDULE: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - 9:30 am to 1:30 pm

DEPARTMENT: Recreation

Performs a variety of general duties as needed to operate and schedule the Senior Center.

• Prepares facility for daily lunches and other events; receives and prepares food for serving daily lunches.
• Talks with and greets Senior Citizen patrons at meals and activities.
• Receives orders and deliveries; assists in organizing and storing materials and supplies.
• Helps with counting of daily collections.
• Receives telephone calls and walk-in public; responds to questions regarding various programs and services; direct callers to appropriate personnel as needed.

• Graduation from high school or equivalent AND sufficient experience to demonstrate an aptitude or ability to perform above and related duties OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Have a current Food Handler's permit.
• Are First Aid and CPR Certified.
• Have some knowledge of food preparation and serving.
• Experience with cash handling.
• Have interpersonal communication skills.
• Have knowledge of and follow safety, sanitation, and gerontology standards.
• May be required to lift up to approximately 25 pounds.
