What You Will Do:
The Senior Care Specialist is a senior level caregiver who is responsible for providing personal attendant
services for TheKey clients in the clients' home, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, etc.
Services provided are dependent upon the clients' needs and may be assigned and changed as the
clients' needs change. The Senior Care Specialist will additionally be responsible for providing care for
"fast start" clients, assisting with the development of care plans, and training caregivers on client care,
company policies and initiatives, equipment, etc.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Performing non-medical personal attendant services, including engaging the client in social,
physical and mental activities, as well as monitoring the client's safety and wellbeing inside and
outside the residence.
• Assisting clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as supervising, feeding, and/or
dressing the client, and the reminder of time on instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), such
as meal preparation for the client, driving, light housework for the client, and medication
reminders.
• Incorporating relevant aspects of TheKey Balanced Care Method TM into the care of the client,
such as playing board games, visiting the local senior center, or engaging in other activities
• Following the client's Plan of Care and maintaining a detailed record of services provided and any
changes in client condition.
• Reporting accurate written care notes via electronic and/or other company-sanctioned methods
depending upon Client Care Manager direction.
• Alerting the Client Care Manager or Staffing Manager about changes in client condition or
incidents occurring during the shift.
• Accurately reporting all working time, including accurate start and end times for each shift,
breaks, training and work-related travel, and any other work performed away from the home of
the client, and properly utilizing TheKey operative timekeeping system(s).
• Adhering to all policies and procedures set forth in the Caregiver Employment Agreement and the
Employee Policy Manual.
• Provide care for "fast start" clients as needed.
• Assist with developing an appropriate care plan for new clients based on interactions and tasks
during the initial shift.
• Assist with training and introducing caregivers to clients.
• Provide administrative staff with feedback, necessary to ensure customer satisfaction
• Provide training for new and existing caregivers that relates specifically to clients, disease
processes, equipment, etc.
• Participate in appropriate meetings related to client care and customer satisfaction
• Collaborate with other team members, as needed, when resolving client/caregiver issues
• Be flexible to handle other assignments as may be required
• Must successfully complete training for this role and demonstrate proficiency of the material
learned
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by your Supervisor.
Qualifications
Required Skills, Education and Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
• CNA, HHA, PCA, HCA, or CHHA Required
• 3+ years of experience in the Home Care setting
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate clearly, appropriately and
professionally to clients and co-workers
• Strong interpersonal skills and is professional in interacting with clients and coworkers
• Expertise problem solving skills - identifying root causes, customer needs and providing solutions
quickly and efficiently in real time
• Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction
• Demonstrated passion for excellence with respect to caring for clients
• Possess a strong work ethic and team player mentality
• Demonstrated ability in using computer applications, which includes keyboard and navigation
skills and learning new computer programs
• Positive attitude, reliable with good attendance and punctuality, team spirit, and commitment to
the job
• Previous Leadership Experience Preferred
• Fully vaccinated is defined as: "2 weeks have passed since your second dose in a 2-dose series,
such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson
& Johnson's vaccine." Those eligible to receive the booster must receive the booster to be
considered fully vaccinated, and those not yet eligible will be required to obtain the booster once
eligible (6 months post last dose)
• Successful completion of all specific state requirements.
• Current driver's license and proof of insurance if driving clients.
• Ability to follow written and verbal care instructions, and document timely and accurately in
system.
• Must have negative TB test and current auto insurance
• Prefer CPR, and First Aid Certification
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to reliably travel to client homes and office location(s).
• Ability to safely perform client transfers with weight bearing requirements contingent upon client
condition and needs. - Ability to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time throughout the work day.
