Job description

If you desire an opportunity to help the Navy and Marine Corps, Serco has a great opportunity for you! As a Senior Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Technical Advisor / QA Analyst, you will be on a team that is evaluating and managing the delivery of new amphibious ships and landing craft to the fleet.

This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level clearance post-employment.

Our team is led by a Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager, each having decades of experience working in the DoD and Shipbuilding Industry. Our Naval Acquisition and Sustainment Operation provides critical services to nearly all U.S. Navy ships and craft and supports surface ship maintenance, modernization, and sustainment. You will work closely with Government, maritime industry professionals, and support personnel. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our sailors and marines.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide radar sensor and electronic warfare systems subject matter expertise in developing ship change packages and maintaining configuration control of design documentation.
  • Integrate system interfaces for C5ISR equipment.
  • Maintain contract arrangement drawings.
  • Provide coordination/liaison with internal and Government teams to address and resolve technical issues.
  • Support meetings including internal team meetings and weekly meetings with the customer.
  • Participate in shipboard trial events upon Government request.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline is desired with 5 to 7 years of relevant C5ISR experience. Relevant experience is professional experience of essentially the same scope and complexity as that described in the “Position Description”, above. Military or DoD experience can be substituted for a degree if 15 or more years of specific work experience can be demonstrated in an analogous or higher-level position.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance post-employment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with and making recommendations for C5ISR systems.
  • Knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) as a design tool.
  • Ability to direct/lead team efforts.
  • Ability to travel to support activities at headquarters, in a shipyard or naval facility, or onboard ship while underway. Travel is estimated to be less than 10% for this position.
  • Pro-active and detail-oriented skills and a willingness to work in the office.
  • United States (U.S.) citizenship.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Experience providing professional services support to Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and/or Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NIWC)
  • AutoCAD experience and an in-depth knowledge of U.S Navy Amphibious Ship systems is highly desirable (e.g., AN/SPY-6, AN/SPS-73, and AN/SLQ-32).
