Sr. Planner/Scheduler
JOB SUMMARY:
Senior Production Planner/Scheduler Plans, schedules, coordinates, and monitors the flow of products through the complete production cycle. Provides timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor to achieve both customer delivery dates and optimize throughput / mix efficiency. Monitors capacity versus utilization and provides routine reports on status and recommendations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create track, review, validate and manage finite schedule and supply plans while considering Capacity Plan, finished goods, Work in Process (WIP), forecasted demand, customer orders, dependent demand, replenishment orders, plant capacity, cycling plans, manufacturing efficiencies and various other dependencies.
- Plan, schedule, release, and control production orders based on MRP time-phased requirements. Monitor and maintain MRP data to evaluate production statistics such as downtime, productivity, and schedule adherence.
- Update the production and inventory control system with information that is timely and accurate.
- Split work orders by generating a new traveler, input split and coordinate activity with inspection and other groups.
- As a liaison, resolve scheduling conflicts between the shop and the business teams.
- Troubleshoot and initiate action required to resolve discrepancies in paperwork or system information to maintain work in process (WIP) data accuracy.
- Define component shortages required to support the assembly build schedule. Track work order and purchase order status to assure customer requirements are achieved.
- Assist in the development and implementation of procedures designed to enhance departmental productivity.
- Train and assist less experienced employees. Adhere to company safety rules and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or related field
- Minimum 5 plus years of experience in Supply Chain Management with at least 3 years of Production Planning and Scheduling experience
- 3 years of dispatching, shop scheduling or production planning experience in a computerized manufacturing system environment, or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities
- Must be strong analytically and highly proficient in ERP and Excel
- Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
- ERP/ MRP experience is required – Infor (M3)
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
70% sitting at a desk; 30% locating physical inventory. Primarily indoors sitting at a desk.
Xtreme Manufacturing produces 16 telehandler models, which are assembled and sold in North America. They also produce E-Z Loader truck beds at their headquarters and assembly facility in Henderson, Nevada.
