Overview of the Position Responsibilities:

The Senior Business Systems Analyst will act as an IT contact for the Field Construction Applications, Customer Support Applications and GIS functions and will play a key role in the strategy, planning, and execution of information management system initiatives related to this area of the Bluepeak’s operations. This person will be responsible for evaluating existing processes in both the business and IT space, determining how they relate to a common service delivery practice.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide Field Construction Applications, Customer Support Application and GIS functional expertise within IT.
  • Follow Business Systems Analyst best practices including planning, as is/to be analysis, gap analysis, requirements gathering, scope definition, stakeholder management, documentation, test case development and implementation, knowledge transfer, training, user acceptance, and post implementation support.
  • Major Responsibilities on Individual Project Assignments:
    • Understands the business direction, industry and competition.
    • Understands business operations, priorities, and challenges.
    • Proposes potential projects, and process improvements.
    • Ensures a clear business vision into a project.
    • Defines formal business requirements.
    • Basis for a “buy” project, used to evaluate vendor products.
    • Basis for a “build” project, used to determine the solution space, and influence all subsequent project team deliverables.
    • Represents the business sponsors of projects, understanding their business functions and processes, and knows where to go for other business information and validation, acting as a bridge between the business area and the project team. Documents these as needed.
    • Elicits, analyzes, validates, and documents business, organizational and operational requirements to ensure the project is accurately satisfying the business need, and ensures the solutions are being driven by the requirements.
    • Provides input and is a key project team member during the full development life cycle of the project.
    • Manages multiple assignments, meetings assigned, and project completion dates.
    • Manages the business sponsor’s and end user’s expectations, yet ensures the delivery is feasible from the business perspective.
    • Coordinates business and end user training Major Responsibilities in Enterprise Discipline.
    • Must be capable of analyzing and identifying solutions for all problems within the assigned project or organization supported.
  • Provides expertise in the business analysis discipline, including methods, tools, and technologies.
  • Reviews existing processes and tools, providing insights for improvement and taking responsibility for maturity of discipline.
  • Analyzes, proposes, and implements workflow and process improvements from an enterprise perspective to ensure a common discipline among a variety of organizations.
  • Establishes and influences a community of cross-functional analysts.
  • All other related duties as assigned.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or science required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive analysis/systems experience in mid to large scale computing environment is required.
  • Working knowledge of agile system development life cycle is strongly preferred.
  • MS Office Suite: Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, Excel, OneNote.
  • Experience in financial systems including Great Plains, NetSuite and Coupa is a benefit, but not required.
  • Strong analytical, written, verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to articulate ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.  
  • Sets the driving pace, pushes diligently, makes timely decisions, and takes action.
  • Must be a systems thinker with a good technical orientation to ensure the use and evolution of many systems in the fast-moving environment.
  • Proactive detail-oriented problem solver.
  • Ability to present, influence and interact with senior leadership and key stakeholders. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once. 
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills. 
  • Interface with all levels and departments in the company. 
  • A collaborative working style and strong attention to detail. 
  • Effective time management with the ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.  
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.  
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in changing and/or challenging situations.
  • Upon job offer, must be able to pass a background check and a drug test prior to employment. 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to sit and reach.
  • Required to use hands, handle objects and paperwork.
  • Required to use close vision and be able to focus.
  • Required to refrain from personal use of technology during working hours.
  • Required to lift up to 5lbs at a given time.
