Form of workWe are seeking Senior Business Objects Developers to join our team supporting our Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client.This position will work as a member of the Business Objects report development team developing reports which provide critical visibility into processing metrics to all levels of IRS management including executives and the Commissioner.PROJECT SPECIFIC JOB DUTIESAttend daily scrum meetings and weekly development meetingsCoordinate with the project managers/scrum masters/team leads on the status of all development tasks and any risks/issues/impedimentsWork with Business Analysts to help shape requirementsPerform mock-ups and/or proof of concepts as neededPerform data analysis and troubleshoot issuesSupport the setup and configuration of the Business Objects environmentSupport universe creation and developmentTroubleshoot reporting issues in various environmentsLocation of work is remote in US.*These positions are contingent on funding.PROJECT SPECIFIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required; an additional four (4) years of related experience may substitute for degreeAt least 5 years of related experience Experience with Business Objects 4.x or newerExperience writing complex SQL queries for Oracle 11g/Redshift/Greenplum databasesExperience developing the Business Objects Enterprise (BOE) universeData Analysis experienceExperience working with the requirements team or end users to shape requirementsExperience developing complex Business Objects reportsExperience in optimizing BOE environmentsGood interpersonal and communications skillsStrong analytical, problem solving, and time-management skills in an operational environmentExcellent attention to detail capabilityAbility to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision and guidanceAbility to work well independently or in a team settingPreferred qualifications include: Experience supporting IRS projects; other business Intelligence tool experience such as Power BI and Tableau; experience with data warehouses; familiarity with MongoDB 6.0.5Additional Requirements as per Contract:Candidates must meet requirements to obtain and maintain an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance (active IRS Moderate Risk MBI clearance is a plus).Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years, and be Federal Tax compliant.
Job SummaryEssential Duties and Responsibilities:- Lead the development of software solutions that will meet or exceed business requirements; the development effort includes designing and implementing modules to the system specifications, conducting unit testing, troubleshooting issues and producing detailed proposals to resolve issues.- May evaluate new coding techniques, tools, modules, and implementation as appropriate.- Lead and mentor entry and mid-level developers.- Consult on requirements elicitation and definition.- Design software solutions per systems requirements.- Code software solutions per designs.- Code reviews, unit test, and integrate coded modules.- Assist other developers in resolving issues by providing guidance and training.- Support testing and remediate defects.- Support users through troubleshooting and analysis of production logs and data.- Investigate new solutions, tools, products, and techniques to incorporate into coding standards.
Minimum Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in related field.- 5-7 years of relevant professional experience required.- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
- Ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision and guidance.- Good verbal and written communication skills.
