The Opportunity
As the Business Development Leader for Databases, this role has two major components. First, you will be responsible for building and fostering strategic partnerships between Nutanix and database engine ISVs, resulting in win-win outcomes for Nutanix and the partner. Second, you will develop a strategy and bootstrap a worldwide ecosystem of database partners that sell, service and support Nutanix Database Service to scale our business and make our partners successful. Working with cross-functional teams at Nutanix and the partners' organizations across all levels will be critical for you to attain and exceed performance goals in this role.
Your Role
•Guide the development and execution of partner recruitment and cross-industry managed partner business growth strategies and plans, solution capacity development, and overall partner performance for NDB.
•Lead the creation of a strategic vision rooted in the partner's impact and potential across segments
•Understand the partners' organization and build stakeholder maps to expand the network
•Develop plans that fully consider short- and long-term goals and performance expectations that are aligned with the partner's needs and capabilities
•Transform and grow partners' businesses in the database space and guide partners to build Nutanix solutions and services aligned with market opportunities.
•Sell account vision to decision makers and complex partners by aligning overall Nutanix NDB value proposition and value propositions of products, channels, or solutions to the partner's business goals
•Influence business and investment decisions and drive orchestration (including sales, technical, go-to-market, and channel management to grow Nutanix NDB business and impact across the partner portfolio.
•Act as a thought leader for synthesizing and combining various and often conflicting business insights across all teams and business units, global best practices, proof points from experience across multiple countries and regions, and broad and deep industry expertise related to customers/partners and their competitors to conduct forecasting and develop recommendations for managing the most prominent, high impact, and challenging partner accounts.
•Ensure that all levels of the organization challenge partners to consider alternatives and adapt strategies, plans, business models, and solutions to insights.
•Orchestrate global teams across the organization to gather and utilize information on the partner. Leverage professional credibility, relationships, and personal experience with similar partners to anticipate and bring in business and industry insights that address the broader business challenges for the partner.
What You Will Bring
•Bachelor's degree required (Computer Science, Sales, Marketing, Business Operations)
•7+ years of experience in partner channel development, sales, Business Development, alliance management in the b2b technology industry
•Experience with database technology platforms (primarily open-source platforms) and solutions with a reasonable level of technical proficiency: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, SQL Server and Oracle preferred.
•A proven history of building and implementing partner programs and ecosystems and sales strategies to manage pipelines and meet sales goals by reviewing forecasts, assessing and mitigating risks, and ensuring strategy alignment with business priorities
•Excel in negotiation and conflict resolution, achieving mutually satisfying agreements in negotiations with others by listening to their objectives, acting as the company's representative to communicate the company's aim effectively, and seeking common ground and collaborative solutions
•Strong partner relationship management and solution development skills managing virtual teams across functions and geographies.
•Excellent communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort in preparing and delivering clear, accurate, and understandable communications conveying highly complex business and technical information to all audiences.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $156,080 and $311,280 /year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
