About This Role:
In this role, you will be entrusted with spearheading key Business Development initiatives that are crucial to our strategic objectives. This includes:

• Managing the Target Industry Program: You will be at the helm of this program, responsible for data analysis, monitoring industry trends, and ensuring our strategies align with market dynamics. Your insights will directly influence how we position Prince William County in the competitive landscape.
• Strategizing Lead Assignments: Your expertise will be vital in assigning leads and projects to the Business Development team. This involves a deep understanding of each team member's strengths and the unique requirements of each prospect, ensuring an optimal match for successful outcomes.
• Overseeing Lead Generation Activities: You will coordinate our lead generation efforts, which are the lifeblood of our economic growth. This includes planning and executing high-impact events, managing budgets, and leading strategic missions to trade shows and conferences, thereby expanding our reach and influence.
• Coordinating Business Retention: Your role involves maintaining robust relationships with existing businesses in the county, ensuring their continued growth and success. This includes regular outreach, understanding their evolving needs, and providing support to help them thrive.

Minimum Requirements:
This opportunity is open to applicants who have a high school diploma or G.E.D. and at least 6 years of related experience in Business Development, economic development, or a closely related field. Related experience should include lead generation, project management, and strategic planning in a business or economic development context.

Preferences:
Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, or a related field, and those who have demonstrated experience in managing Business Development programs, using Salesforce, and engaging in public sector economic development within our county.
Special Requirements:
This role requires occasional travel for trade shows and conferences. Physical demands include standard office duties with occasional lifting of materials for events.
Work Schedule:
The Department operates from Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, though this role may require occasional evening and weekend commitments. Travel will be required on an as-needed basis. Additionally, there is an opportunity for regular telework, subject to mutual agreement and alignment with departmental needs.
Starting Salary Range: $74,217 - $88,167
