The Senior BSA Analyst assists the department in all requirements necessary to achieve and maintain a satisfactory level of BSA compliance, safety, and soundness.
Makes analysis and performs account reviews and/or conducts approvals to determine if there are any patterns of unusual activity, which results in either the filing of a suspicious activity report or a waiving of the Alert or Case for AML and/or High Risk. Analyze accounts having activity that appears unusual, including but not limited to the following sources: AML monitoring system, CARFs, subpoenas, 314b requests, special investigations, high risk customers and reputational risk customers. Analyze accounts having activity that may require more due diligence such as: specialized monitoring rules, more complex relationships, high risk or reputational risk.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Finance and four (4) to six (6) years of Banking experience; three (3) to five (5) years directly related to BSA with strong focus on monitoring and investigation of suspicious activities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with BSA monitoring software required.
- Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and/or other professional BSA/AML related certifications preferred.
- Ability to build relationships using teamwork, problem identification and problem solution skills.
- Willingness and assertiveness to express expertise and authority to meet the requirements for the position.
- Must be comfortable in shifting priorities. Needs to sustain effectiveness in varying environments and with different tasks, responsibilities and people.
- Must be able to resolve problems and adjusts tactics in response to changing circumstances. Have the capability to prioritize, budget time and maintain work priorities; must be adept at performing two or more parallel assignments.
- Must be able to understand and implement job related policies and procedures.
- Must possess excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, written and communication skills; excellent project and time management skills.
- Computer proficient in MS Software, (e.g. Excel, Word, and Outlook).
