Optimotion Implants is seeking a Biomedical Embedded Systems Engineer with experience in AI, machine learning, convolutional neural networks, IMU, electronic circuit board design, and GUI application design. Their task is to create a custom preoperative navigation interface using MRI scans, integrating AI-generated processes.
The position is contract-based with the potential for full time employment.
The candidate must have experience and expertise in:
- Sensor Integration / Hall Effect Sensors / MEMS Units / Sensor Calibration
- Intraoperative (surgical) navigation technology
- Artificial Intelligence for image processing/ Deep Learning Techniques
Experience in the orthopedic field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop an AI tool to identify Regions of Interest and boundaries of anatomical structures from diagnostic imaging
- Design and develop an interface and visualization tool for preoperative and intraoperative planning. Tool must be able to (but may not be limited to): visualize and manipulate patient 3D models, register anatomy and instruments intraoperatively, read sensor data and provide feedback.
- Incorporate sensor technology into surgical equipment.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with clinical experts and engineering personnel to ensure project meets business objectives and compliance standards.
- Create and maintain software design documentation.
- Test and debug software applications to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Lead and participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards.
Qualifications
- Expertise in AI and Image-Based Surgical Navigation
- Experience with Hall Effect Sensors, Optical Sensors, MEMS Units
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field)
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Strong proficiency in software development using languages such as Java, C++, or Python
- Experience with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Angular
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Pay: $30.00 - $80.00 per hour
