Senior Backend Java Software Engineer
About the Team
- This position is in Clover's Merchant Lifecycle Engineering organization. We are responsible for all phases of merchant lifecycle, including new merchant on-boarding, merchant experience configuration, and merchant equipment provisioning. Much of our work involves integrating with other system via APIs and Micro services.
What you will do:
- In this role, we're looking for an experienced backend Java Software Engineer to contribute to all aspects of project development and delivery with specific focus on the development of new features and enhancements to our products.
- You will be required to respond to occasional requests for additional off-hour work in the event of an emergency client incident or critical business need.
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor's degree, or above, in computer science or other engineering discipline, or equivalent work experience
- At least 5+ years of experience in Java Development
- Thorough knowledge of Java 8 and above with ample experience in server programming.
- Strong hands on experience with Spring framework and Spring Boot and Microservices development, MYSQL with JDBC and Hibernate/JPA, SOAP and REST web services
- Experience with TLS cryptography and certificate management in Java (SSL)
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, Apache Kafka and Google Pub/Sub
- Experience with Cloud Technologies
What would be great to have:
- Knowledge of Web development and JavaScript including frameworks such as React or Ember is a plus
- Ability to clearly articulate API design and technical requirements with thoughtful documentation gathering requirements, exploring alternative solutions, and implementing code along the way. Maintain and update documentation
- Effective communication skills; especially within teams and with technical information
Salary Range
$112,900.00 - $192,000.00
