Location: Two (2) openings. One position will be located in Northern California / one position will be located in Southern California.
Role Overview
- Conduct assessment of Assigned General Offices or Territory in the Latino Market and identify growth opportunities, goals, and projections. Develop solid knowledge base of community demographics, trends, and segmentation opportunities.
- Work with Field and Home Office management to develop and implement strategies and tactics that 1) generate local growth in recruiting, agent productivity and sales, and 2) drive Agency-wide programs, incentives, and corporate initiatives.
- Develop relationships with agents and management teams in the assigned offices and with community leaders, Centers of Influence, and organizations to consistently introduce NYL to the community and vice-versa.
- Travel to assigned General Offices to engage with new agent candidates as well as candidates in the process and to implement Nominating, Center of Influence, Recruiting, and Candidate Engagement Activities. Also, engage with existing agents to provide resources and conduct prospecting, marketing, and sales activities.
- Work with the management and development team in the assigned territory to conduct or coordinate agent orientations, training, and study groups or other development programs.
- Responsible for timely and accurate management of territory budgets as well as expense forecasting, reconciliation, and documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required/and or equivalent business experience. (Recruiting, insurance and financial services, marketing, sales and sales management, coaching, business, communications, and business development)
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience.
- Life and Health insurance licenses required. Series 6, 63 registration required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. Portuguese a plus.
- Life Insurance sales experience a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of New York Life sales systems, products, and training, recruiting experience a plus.
- Requires thorough knowledge and experience of Agency systems, sales process, and production factors in a Life Insurance sales environment.
- Must be able to demonstrate strong networking, prospecting, selling, and marketing skills.
- Proficiency in Life Products, Annuities, and New York Life's Financial Needs Analysis approach.
- Proficient in MS Word, Power Point, and Excel.
- Event planning and project management skills required.
- Ability to learn and memorize scripts and explain complicated concepts.
- Ability to gather, format, and interpret Field activity, pipeline, and results data.
- Ability to analyze and interpret recruiting cycle rations to identify areas of improvement.
- Outstanding communication skills; both verbal and written.
- Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Travel as needed.
