The primary purpose of a Senior Asphalt Product Analyst is expert level product research, analysis and data collection in support of delivering new products to market and assisting operating facilities with product quality issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 Leads plant trial & field trial planning.
 Leads plant and field corrective actions and design new plant & field applications.
 Technical review of new customer specification requirements
 Provide technical support to the Sales and Business Development teams, serving as the main point of contact.
 Be a technical leader as necessary to assist in training and developing new capabilities within the Lab.
 Leads Safety Standards.
 Promotes & leads cleanliness standards & on-task work ethic.
 Demonstrates complete competency & trains others in industry research & DOT specifications design & implementations.
 Trains others on the structure & function of emulsifier, additive & polymer chemistry.
 Provides solutions as well as determine root causes of formulation failure and material key properties changes in formulation of emulsion, cutback & PMAC & trains others in the above.
 Leads & supports others in reviews, edits & reports complex findings in professional reports to key decision makers and external customers.
 Performs and reports on data analysis on the results of key specialized instruments such as FTIR, DSR, & particle size and trains others in the above.
 Leads new product development or uses, including participating in development and implementation with internal departments and external customers.
 Innovative leader working on new product design and patents.
 Actively engaged with others in the department and throughout the company

 Understands the importance of customer focus, quality of work, creating efficiencies and process improvement.
 Is dependable and reliable.
 Travel to plant, job and customer locations up to 25% of the time

Required
 Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related field
 Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
 Well established organizational skills with strong attention to detail, record-keeping skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 5 years of experience with Asphalt Materials testing or research.
 Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Job Requirements
 Ability to work in a team environment with a variety of other company employees.
 Ability to work independently without close supervision.
 Must be able to work overtime as needed.
 Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular movement of wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
 Ability to perform primarily sedentary work, yet occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force.
 Ability to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiting manual dexterity.
 Ability to operate standard office equipment including a computer, copier, fax, phone and other similar office equipment.
 Ability to troubleshoot and coach through technical issues.
Work Environment
This position’s work setting is primarily lab based. This position will visit manufacturing plants or job sites and customer locations which would result in limited exposure to chemicals, fumes, dust, odors, gases, and other substances used in a construction environment.
