SENIOR ART DIRECTOR

The Senior Art Director at Allen & Gerritsen in Boston will report to the SVP, Group Creative Director, and will be responsible to develop impactful advertising and media communications for clients and prospects, leading graphic design on various media, including digital (web, social, mobile applications), broadcast (graphics, storyboards), and print (posters, out of home, point of sale).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Effectively visualize concepts and transform them into creative and visually impactful end-products, giving direction on photography style, imagery, typography, iconography and navigation optimized for the web;
• Concept and design integrated brand experiences across the entire brand ecosystem including brand identity, broadcast, print, outdoor, experiential, mobile, responsive websites, rich media banners, videos, email and collateral;
• Create inspiring, strategic and innovative solutions encompassing different media that ranges from illustrations and graphic designs to animations and 3D design for A&G and clients;
• Investigate, innovate and develop trends in creative design;
• Collaborate with partners including copywriters, strategy and media departments, business leaders, production partners and clients;
• Drive the quality of execution and act as a thought leader for creative ideas and graphic designs;
• Oversee the development of graphics and visuals through the creative process to final sign off;
• Present creative design concepts to clients for approval; and
• Oversee designers and design teams on art direction.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Illustration, Advertising, Graphic Design or closely related field (or foreign equivalent degree), plus 2 years of experience as an Art Director in an advertising agency.

Experience, which may be gained concurrently, must include:

• 2 years of creative experience on well-produced, big idea ad campaigns;
• 2 years of advertising visual design experience encompassing animation, illustration and 3D Design;
• 2 years of experience leveraging knowledge of visual, interactive and motion design trends to produce ad campaigns using simple executions that make big statements;
• 2 years of experience in creative illustration and design using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, Adobe In-design, Sketch, and 3D modeling software Cinema 4D or Blender;
• 2 years managing design teams;
• Proven track record of winning creative projects and participating on pitch teams winning new ad business;
