We are currently seeking a Senior Art Director to join our team!
Summary of the Job:
We are looking for a Senior Art Director with a high level of craft and experience pushing conceptual boundaries that will continue our clients' and agency's legacy of award-winning work. This candidate will be a strong collaborator that treats our clients' business goals as their own, approaching all creative assignments with an exceptional eye for design, photography, and world-building, paired with a deep understanding of your assigned client's business. This candidate has demonstrated experience art directing TV/OLV, photo, digital, social, and print, and will bring strong conceptual thinking and refined artistic advantage to their teams.
Our next Senior Art Director candidate will have TV production experience and a proven ability to translate and present their ideas to clients and integrated teams. This candidate must be self-driven and constantly pushing their skillset in collaboration with Group Creative Directors and others to continue refining and expanding their craft. Lastly, they will embody, join, and uphold our company mission through their creative work, strategic thinking, and partnership with teams: Come Together, Stand Apart.
Essential Functions/Principal Accountabilities of the Job:
- Day-to-day responsibilities of the Senior Art Director include but are not limited to:
- Own creative assignments including (but not limited to) video, digital, social, experiential, and print in collaboration with partnered Copywriter, prioritizing craft and execution that is in-line with client tone, voice, objectives, and big-picture business goals.
- Develop a strong understanding of assigned client(s) business with guidance from your Group Creative Director, Account Management, Social Strategy, and Brand Planning teams.
- Has great taste, presentation skills, and excels in communication.
- Coordinates production work through the relevant departments; working effectively with outside suppliers and guiding the selection of directors, photographers, typography, cast, voice talent, sound design and music as required.
- Communicates and collaborates daily with Creative Directors, Account Management, Brand Planning, Project Management, Social Strategy, Director of Creative Operations, and partnered copywriters to ensure project success.
- Ability to engage with creative and account leaders to translate contextual, strategic, and business goals of designated client through art direction.
- Actively ideates and pitches integrated campaign ideas for designated client(s) to Creative Directors.
- Actively participates in the ad community by attending seminars, volunteering for CL-sponsored events, and referring your best and the brightest creative peers to the agency.
- Actively participates in and contributes to Carmichael Lynch's culture by attending company-wide events, jumping at opportunities to celebrate your colleagues, and maintaining a positive, inclusive, all-in attitude.

Working Relationships, Autonomy, and Supervision:
The Senior Art Director must interact with and effectively collaborate with all personnel of Carmichael Lynch. For this role, you will regularly work with the following teams: Creative, Project Management, Account Management, Social Strategy, Brand Planning, Production, Studio, and Content Lab.
Management/project oversight comes from: Creative Director(s) and/or Group Creative Director.
Assigned projects come from: Director of Creative Operations.
Required Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge:
- Education:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in advertising, visual art, or a closely-related field.
- Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 3-4 years experience and a portfolio that makes creatives do a double-take.
- Mid-senior level client contact experience.
- Strong leadership abilities with a desire to mentor junior creatives.
- Some supervisory experience preferred.
- Associated with highly awarded creative output.
