Senior Architect- RA
We are looking for New York State registered architects who are interested in spending the majority of their work-days outdoors—specifically, at New York City public buildings. The Registered Architect will be joining our firm to primarily work on the condition assessment surveys for public housingand perform special inspections.
The ideal candidate will be working in a team of Architects Electrical Engineer, and Mechanical Engineer, conducting visual inspections of public housing. There will be training course for the project’s specific methodology and processes; after the training, the architect (inspector) will then be scheduled to inspect buildings with his/her team. The team will be using in-house-developed software on tablet computers to generate inspection reports. Because the team is scheduled for individual buildings each day, the team is required to complete and submit the inspection data/report by the end of the work day.
Responsibilities include:
- Visual inspections of buildings, building components and systems, and building structure, using proprietary mobile applications;
- Generating daily reports of building conditions;
- Obtaining building data pertaining to completed improvements and upgrades from building staff (custodial engineers and managers);
- Denoting locations of building deficiencies on building diagrams (plan and elevation);
- Confirming accurate building size and damage quantities;
- Issuing ‘Priority Condition Reports’ when life-safety/hazardous conditions exist;
- Producing ‘Structural Action Reports’ when hazardous structural conditions are observed during the inspection walkthrough.
Required Experience Requirements and Qualifications
Ability to use company-provided tablets and application to complete inspection;
Knowledge of architectural components, including: building exterior (envelope), structure, roofing and drainage, and familiarity with ADA guidelines;
Licensed R.A. in New York State with a minimum experience of 15 years.
