Job description

Job Purpose

The Senior Applications Analyst is responsible for supporting daily activities related to the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Corporate Performance Management (CPM) applications, leading longer-term projects related to ERP & CPM applications and operations, creating periodic communications of departmental activities to other teams within the company, and working with business leaders to determine how to optimize the company’s applications. The Senior Applications Analyst works closely with other members of the company’s IT team, along with the reporting and analytics, accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), and operations teams. The position includes responsibilities such as planning and implementing application technologies, managing the deployment and maintenance of applications, and ensuring data integrity. The position will align technology with the organization's overall business objectives and provide efficient, effective, and reliable support to the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with executive leadership to define technology roadmaps and long-term vision. Develop and articulate a clear vision for our enterprise applications, aligning technology investments with the company's strategic goals. Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies and trends that can be leveraged to gain a competitive edge.
  • Enterprise Application Portfolio Management: Oversee the assessment and optimization of our application portfolio, ensuring alignment with business needs and scalability. Maintain a holistic view of our application landscape, making informed decisions about software development, integration, and retirement.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources. Prioritize projects and allocate resources effectively.
  • Business Process Optimization: Work closely with various departments to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Streamline workflows to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Project Management: Oversee large-scale enterprise application projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Digital Transformation: Champion digital transformation initiatives by leveraging technology to streamline business processes, enhance data analytics, and improve customer engagement. Ensure the seamless integration of digital solutions across the organization.
  • Application Administration: Administer the environment through user account management, database object management, and scheduled job management. Use a central repository to manage information related to assigned applications. Follow documented procedures to complete application changes and upgrades.
  • Maintenance & End User Support: Monitor the health of applications and interfaces using established tools and procedures. Troubleshoot issues with applications for end users and initiate timely corrective actions where possible. Assume a liaison role between vendors, managed service providers, and end users, translating technical specifications for end users and business requirements for vendors/managed service providers.
  • Test & Deployment: Work with the vendor, accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), reporting and analytics, and operations teams to analyze application functions, reports, and interfaces prior to deployment. Devise test plans and perform tests to ensure successful application changes and upgrade deployments.
  • Documentation: Create written and/or recorded materials to document design, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures for the applications team and to document usage and procedures of the applications for end users.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Computer Science
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience scripting for automation (e.g., Python, .NET, etc.).
  • 5+ years of experience in IT project management or a related role
  • 5+ years of experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, preferably Rent Manager and Yardi
  • 2+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), preferably Vena
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing ERP strategies
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and/or financial planning and analysis processes in a residential industry
  • Ability to support applications, operations, and/or accounting teams with projects involving integrations, such as with Point of Sale (POS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), websites, or resident portals
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering IT projects on time, within budget, and to the required specifications
  • Self-starter with strong time management skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication


Working Conditions

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position requires to be in the office a minimum of 3 days a week. This position will require occasional travel.
