Senior Application Security Engineer Objective:
Act as subject matter expert for secure application design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance within the system development lifecycle. Work with the security team, Architecture Review Board, Application Development Managers, and other key parties to create; and routinely update, a set of secure application development best practices and standards, and then create code review processes to evaluate compliance with those standards. Partner with business units, project management, development, and engineering teams to foster secure solutions. Assess security gaps in existing application lifecycle policies and processes and propose amendments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Senior Application Security Engineer Responsibilities:
Serve on the Architecture Collaboration Team as the subject matter expert for Application Security.
Lead architecture and design reviews of applications and services to address security risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Partner with others to help create, update, and monitor application development secure coding practices and standards.
Identify opportunities to integrate security tasks and activities into system development methodologies.
Perform validation of security controls for both in-house and vendor proposed solutions to ensure adherence with corporate policies and industry/government mandates.
Partner with development and engineering teams on the design, implementation, and monitoring of security controls for the protection of applications, services, and data.
Identify and implement technical solutions to help track attack vectors and threats, mitigate security vulnerabilities, and automate repeatable tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
Senior Application Security Engineer Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required, or equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum 10 years of combined professional experience in Application Security, software development, static / dynamic code analysis, network security, cloud security, and system architecture.
Preferred:
Possession of GIAC or ISC2 certifications preferred.
Note: This is a full-time work from personal residence position.
