Burlington Stores is a nationally recognized retailer of high quality, branded merchandise at everyday low prices, with over 1000 stores in 45 states and Puerto Rico and we are in search of a Senior Analyst Budget and Expense.  As an off-price retailer we generate more than $9B in sales through our nationwide network of stores.

 

Our Sr. Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the sales planning and analysis function, leading initiatives to enhance financial efficiency, and providing strategic insights to senior management.  This individual should possess a deep understanding of financial analysis, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving impactful financial decisions.

 

A Day in the Life

  • Lead the annual by-store sales planning process and work closely with corporate and field leaders to gain alignment and ensure accurate plans
  • Own monthly production of daily sales plans by store, capturing shifts in companywide and store-level events and holidays
  • Own forecasting weekly, monthly, and quarterly positions vs plan and partner with payroll Budgeting and scheduling teams to ensure timely and accurate weekly budgets
  • Coordinate with internal partners (e.g., larger Store Operations Team, Finance team, Central Planning, Real Estate, etc.) to ensure proper execution of upcoming allocations and adjustments (e.g., correct sales plans in place to support payroll budgets and staffing models)
  • Implement and enforce controls to mitigate risks related to sales and Expenses
  • Support strategic analyses, such as improvement and sales-driving initiatives:
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support senior/manager requests. Past examples include:
  • Increase internal efficiencies through simplification of reporting, automation of data pulls, or elimination of legacy reports no longer useful

 

You’ll Come With

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in retail financial and data analysis
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to utilize various Business Intelligence reporting (i.e., PowerBI, MicroStrategy)
