As a Subject Matter Expert with extensive experience, the Senior Advanced Engineer Support Specialist will analyze the effects of projects upon various areas such as Engineering, Facilities, and the labor pool to determine the most practical and cost-efficient methods to obtain the required resources; analyze, troubleshoot and provide technical skills during research and/or product development; and determine, monitor, and review costs, operational budgets and schedules, and manpower requirements. You'll be expected to perform all aspects of Systems Engineering disciplines including Requirements Analysis, Use Cases and Data Flow Diagrams development as well as defining system default data definition through Interface Control Documents (ICDs) development. You'll also perform research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification or electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems, as well as system integration and testing and regression testing of software.
- Provide support for directing and assisting posture transition evolutions on East Coast platforms.
- Provides onboard training to ship's force during IA posture evolutions.
- IA Security posture transition technical support during IA health checks, posture transitions, system restoration, and post-tests as required.
- Provide input and comments during reviews of Posture Transition Operations Manual and be able to support validation verification checks on new system class IA suites.
- Provide input and comments during reviews of draft and preliminary MIP/MRCs as needed.
- Validate test procedures during testing events on hull as well as in the lab, often requiring shift work to complete.
- Develop operations and maintenance procedures for incorporation into technical manuals using engineering source documents.
- Develop power on, power off procedures, as well as detailed software build procedures.
- Familiarity with the Navy's 3M system and the ability Develop preventative maintenance cards
- Develops training using MS Office Products to support operations and maintenance training.
- A Bachelor's of Science or Technology degree, a related specialized area or field (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix a plus.
- Subject Matter Expertise with one of these systems: AN/BYG-1, AN/BQQ-10, or AN/BLQ-10.
- Must have strong organizational and analytical skills as well as practical problem-solving and decision making-skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and be able to manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously.
