The Senior Accounting Analyst plays a crucial rule in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, internal controls and compliance, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting for specified communities at Brio Living Services. This position reports to the Assistant Controller and is responsible for particular communities in ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulations and laws.

What you’ll do

Monthly Close, Internal Controls and Compliance

  • Perform and oversee the timely completion of month end close for assigned communities
  • Perform and complete balance sheet reconciliations for assigned communities monthly
  • Prepare and complete monthly journal entries for life lease accounting and reconciliations
  • Prepare and complete annual IRS 990 return for assigned communities
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns and facilitate payment of sales taxes for assigned communities
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and tax laws

Capital Asset Management

  • Assist in the management of the capital asset system
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly capital tracking schedules for obligated group communities

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare and provide financial reports for the communities
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Prepare financial deliverables for and meet with campus leaders monthly for assigned communities
  • Participate and assist in the annual budget process for assigned communities

Support

  • Other duties as assigned

What it takes

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • Strong accounting and analysis skills
  • Comfortable in presenting financial information
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Senior living and/or public accounting experience preferred.
