Position Summary
Perform various accounting activities and provide support to the Senior Manager of Global Accounting, Director, and CFO, including but not limited to preparation and analysis of financial statements, General Ledger maintenance, and ad hoc reporting while assisting in all areas of the Accounting Department as needed or instructed. Offer a broad understanding of all aspects of accounting and the ability to interpret the full accounting cycle and how transactions impact the financial statements.
Essential Functions
Support Assistant Director of Global Accounting in generating and analyzing Firm financial reports on a monthly basis that are distributed to upper management.
Responsible for compiling, analyzing, and posting global journal entries on a monthly basis. The entries include but are not limited to global payroll, overhead allocation, partner compensation, and secretarial allocation.
Assist in the compiling and completion of the audited financial statements with accompanying footnotes.
Support with audit requests during the annual global audit.
Maintain global fixed asset roll forward to document the flow of additions, disposals, and foreign currency translation of our various capital expenditures.
Work with global accounting teams in analyzing and reconciling General Ledger balance sheet accounts.
Work with various departments in the analysis of monthly financial statements and post any necessary reclassing entries.
Firm lead Accountant for processing our month-end closing in 3E system.
Assist in maintaining, upgrading, and replacing accounting software systems as needed.
Monthly balancing of the General Ledger to sub-ledger in the 3E system.
Review, maintain, and update General Ledger back office procedures in 3E system.
Oversee and analyze monthly credit card reconciliations on a global basis.
Create ad hoc reports as well as doing various reclass and general journal entries as needed.
Oversee the various surveys in which the Firm participates.
Serve as backup support for various positions within the department, such as assisting with the global budget processes.

Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Seven plus years in comparable responsible accounting position, including General Ledger accounting experience required. A minimum of four years public accounting experience preferred. Experience in a law firm or other service environment a plus.
Skills: Possess a thorough knowledge of accounting theories and practices. Able to work independently and prioritize workload. Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively with all organizational levels. Able to work well in a multiple-priority, deadline-driven environment. Strong PC skills and knowledge of MS Office; advanced knowledge of Excel. Experience with 3E or other accounting application strongly preferred.

Equipment To Be Used: Personal computer and other office equipment such as telephone, calculator, fax, machine, copier, scanner, etc.
Typical Physical Demands: Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment.
Typical Mental Demands: Able to work effectively in a fast paced environment. Make judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations. Grasp and apply new ideas. Communicate with various personalities at all levels.
Working Conditions: You will be required to work in the office a minimum of 2 days per week. The details of your weekly schedule will be discussed further with your direct supervisor. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule.
