The Senior Accountant, GL is responsible for assisting with the day to day running of the accounting function, including but not limited to performing general ledger accounting, bank statement reconciliation, preparing journal entries and financial statements.
Responsibilities
- Assists with the month-end closing process, conducting research and making correcting journal entries for account discrepancies, preparing closing journal entries and account reconciliations, posting accrual entries, and preparing financial statements across entities
- Performs the processing of functional and benefits expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, as needed
- Assists in preparing inter-company entries, expense allocations, and eliminations as part of consolidation
- Reconcile SUT filings and payment from Avalara
- Lead global compliance and statutory audits with our external partners
- Prepare and file property taxes
- Complete other projects as necessary
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in accounting or related field
- 3-4+ years of accounting experience; mix of private and public accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting
- Experience with tax (SUT, property, etc)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels both within and outside the company
- Ability to prioritize multiple duties and work independently
- Flexibility and comfort with continuous change, willingness to take on challenges, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel to Tampa on a quarterly basis
- Experience with NetSuite and Avalara
- CPA or CMA, or interested in pursuing
- Experience with M&A, and Private Equity backed SaaS
- Experience with multi-entities (domestic and foreign) consolidations and international compliance/statutory audit.
