Are you a detail-oriented, deadline-driven accountant with experience in both full-cycle accounting and non-profit financial management? If so, we're looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will oversee various accounting functions, including month-end close, fixed asset tracking, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting. Your contributions will help support our mission and have a direct impact on our financial stability.
Responsibilities:
- Execute full-cycle accounting, including timely month-end close and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare and review journal entries, financial statements, and reports in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Maintain and manage fixed asset records, ensuring accurate depreciation and grant funding allocation.
- Handle accounts receivable, deposits, and perform collections efforts when necessary.
- Review and process accounts payable, including vendor invoice coding and weekly check runs.
- Manage banking and cash management, ensuring accurate cash balances and timely bank reconciliations.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial analysis.
- Conduct quarterly and annual reporting to Feeding America.
- Document accounting processes and internal controls, ensuring adherence to financial procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and outside advisors as needed.
- Assist with year-end audits and tax filings.
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, business management, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a preference for 2+ years in a non-profit environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial and accounting practices and procedures.
- Proficiency in general ledger software, QuickBooks preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong multitasking and time management skills.
- Capacity to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
