Location: College Station, TX
SUMMARY: TheSenior Accountantwill support the Accounting Manager and Executive Management in carrying out responsibilities related to planning and analysis and account reconciliations.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare daily liquidity, funding and loan activity reports
- Prepare analysis on the loans held for sale portfolio including gain on sale calculations
- Prepare analysis of non-interest expense prior to month end closing
- Prepare lending and deposit schedules used for monthly Management Reports
- Prepare and process fixed asset and prepaid activity
- Prepare regulatory filings on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis including being responsible as a back-up role for Call Report preparation
- Prepare entries for the Investment Bond Portfolio and accrual accounting
- Review all daily interface and posting exception reports and resolve exceptions
- Perform daily and weekly balance sheet reconciliations for significant and high volume accounts
- Perform monthly reconciliation for all asset and liability accounts
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly journal entries in the Bank's general ledger system including accruals and recurring entries
- Assist with fulfilling auditor and examiner requests
- Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
- Previous accounting/finance experience working in a financial services environment with a minimum of 3-5 years preferred.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of bank loan and deposit products and services is preferred.
- Excellent analysis and observation skills in order to ensure accuracy of financial analysis and reporting.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products, Excel spreadsheets, etc.
- Possess the ability to trouble-shoot and solve problems independently, quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to be flexible in order to meet deadlines, complete projects, etc.
- Banking experience and working with Jack Henry software is preferred but not required.
