The Accounting Manager will handle the overall management of the accounting department and company finances. This includes overseeing the accounting for all construction projects, reviewing financial statements, and preparing reports for upper management. Will also be responsible for developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
Pay range is $73K - $84K plus bonus opportunity!
Responsibilities:
- Establishes and develops and implements financial systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information and managing accounting staff.
- Provides financial reporting for leadership team.
- Achieves accounting operational objectives by contributing accounting information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews, resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; and implementing change.
- Meets accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
- Confirms financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; and preparing special reports.
- Maintains accounting controls by establishing a chart of accounts and defining accounting policies and procedures.
- Coordinates with project managers and other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policies and making recommendations to operational issues.
- Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Handles accounting human resource objectives by processing staff paperwork updates, and changes.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- BA in accounting, finance, or business
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Must have construction accounting experience
- Excellent computer skills with knowledge of QuickBooks Online, Paycor and advanced Excel skills.
- Great problem-solving, communication and organizational skills.
