Senior Accountant - Bilingual English/Mandarin

JOB DESCRIPTION – SENIOR ACCOUNTANT - Bilingual English/Mandarin

SUMMARY

Our client, a very established CPG packaging manufacturer, is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team. The position is responsible for working with AR and AP on a daily basis, Transaction Review, maintaining and processing the Monthly Closings and all reconciliations, general ledger entries and assisting the Controller in review and preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.

The successful candidate will handle bookkeeping and prepare data entries and generate reports and transactions for both internal and external use. Other duties include handling material procurement tasks, tracking purchases and expenses, producing reports and verifying data accuracy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working with AR & AP closely on daily base to maintain data accuracy and timely posting.
• When required, step in to be the back-up of AR and AP personnel and perform the related daily duties.
• Resolve accounting issues in AR, AP, Inventory and General Ledger.
• Process monthly closing.
• Process accruals: expenses, commissions, and other accruals when applicable.
• Depreciation and Amortization entries.
• Bank Reconciliations.
• Credit Card expense Review with AP.
• Balance Sheet GL account Reconciliations.
• AP Aging Report Review against GL Balance.
• AR Aging Report Review against GL Balance.
• Adjusting Entries per Reconciliation when applicable.
• Generating reports requireda nd reviewing for accuracy.
• Performing job duties assigned by supervisor/team leader and Controller.
• Filing sales tax both monthly and quarterly.
• Filing annual business tax with LA County.
• Filing 1099’s.
• Processing commission reports and entries.
• Maintaining vendor set up and updates.
• Maintaining customer set up and update:
• Confer with production managers, controller and other team members to understand and assist with procurement needs.
• Maintaining and Tracking Film purchase shipments status.
• Managing Film inventory activities and status.
• Supervising record keeping and all electronic filing.
• Included but not limited to other accounting related duties.

QUALIFICATIONS.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• At least one year of a successful work history as a Senior Accountant, with AR, AP and general ledger hands-on experience.
• Detail oriented, well organized, works well both as an individual and team player.
• Good communication skills with multiple departments and multilevel communication.
• Microsoft proficient, skilled with Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
• Experience with Inventory Management and Implementation.
• Bilingual, English/Mandarin
• Experience working with Sage 100 System or similar software.
