Our client is looking for experience Senior Staff Accountant – Payroll & Fringe Benefits
Monday - Friday 9-5 (35 hours/Excellent benefits)
Salary: $75k - $120K Based On Experience
The Senior Staff Accountant operates under the guidance of the Controller and must be a team player with good communication, analytical, computer skills, current with FASB non-profit pronouncements and possess a track record of continuous improvement in the job performance.

We currently have an opportunity for a self-motivated, accounting professional to:
- Timely and accurate processing in accord with the monthly financial close calendar including:
- Prepare and input of journal entries for approval specific to payroll and fringe benefits.
- Monthly account analysis for assigned income statement and balance sheet accounts, including payroll and fringe expenses and related liability accounts and accruals.
- Prepare and review cost allocations necessary for timely recording of expenses across agencies and programs for proper reporting to Executives, Board of Directors and governmental funding agencies.
- Prepare supporting schedules for program budget to actual variances used in preparing monthly Program operations financial narratives, specific to overtime and FTE usage.
- Monitor of intercompany payroll expenses and related fringes benefits that will allow for proper billing for reimbursement of intercompany expenses.
- Timely completion of the supporting schedules used to prepare the NYS CFR, recording and reconciliation of all agencies medical, dental and other employee fringe expenses and related liabilities and accruals.
- Assist in preparation of agency budget using financial statements, projected changes and staffing patterns.
- Support the annual audit process by timely satisfying auditors sample request and other provide by client (PBC) item assigned by the Accounting Manager/ Controller
- Assist in the preparation of annual IRS Form 990 and related salary schedules.
We require:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Accounting or Finance
- Three (3) years relevant experience preferably
- Good command of accounting pronouncements
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word
- Good interpersonal skills exhibited by the ability to communicate with staff, management, and other departments
- Good skills in paying attention to detail, analyses, developing and recommending solutions and the ability to prioritize and complete tasks on a timely basis with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
Considered a Plus:
- Experience with proper recording of self-funded Medical, Dental and HRA employee benefits plan
- Experience with preparing NYS CFR schedules
- Proficiency in use of Sage Intacct, NetSuite ERP, Blackbaud Financial Edge, UKG-UltiPro/ Kronos payroll system
- Strong work ethics and exhibiting a sense of urgency in completion of tasks, willingness to work a flexible schedule and a commitment to the mission of the agency.
