Job Overview:
Fragrance.com is seeking a Senior Accountant to provide support to the Finance Director and Controller and perform tasks that include but are not limited to: assisting with month-end close and financial reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in the month-end close and preparation of monthly and annual financial reporting, including preparation and posting of journal entries.
- Creates accounts, departments, and projects in general ledger as needed and prepares general ledger account analyses
- Prepares and reverses accruals as needed
- Assists in the maintenance of internal controls in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Assists with internal/external audits
- Employs appropriate follow up to fully and completely resolve outstanding fiscal issues as they arise
- Prepare analysis and reconciliation of certain expense and balance sheet accounts.
- Responsible for managing operational data and ensuring data integrity and accuracy
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial information in accordance with GAAP
- Perform analysis of revenue, expense, budget variance and identify reasons for differences
- Other Ad Hoc projects as needed, working directly with Accounting Manager, Controller, and Finance Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Analytical and technical skills and keen attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize work flow
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology is required
- 3-5 years working in public/private accounting or a combination of both
PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- CPA a plus
- Experience with Great Plains general ledger software a plus
- CPA Eligible preferred but not required
- Microsoft Dynamics GP experience is a plus
