JOB TITLE: SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

3 to 6 Month Full Time Project, Work in Union, NJ.

OPPORTUNITY

D’Artagnan, a central New Jersey based national leader in high quality protein distribution, seeks a detailed oriented individual with accounting experience for a 3 to 6 Month full-time position. We are looking for an ambitious Senior Accountant to provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks and monthly-end close. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a general accounting role with experience in accounts payable and general ledger. We seek a candidate that has a roll up your sleeves mentality, an analytical mindset with strong verbal and written communication skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for preparing and managing account reconciliations, account analysis, workpapers for fixed assets, pre-paids, bank reconciliations, etc.
• Responsible for month-end close/ general ledger activities including timely journal entries and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, with proper documentation and thorough analysis of G/L variances to ensure a timely close period
• The ability to create ad-hoc financial analysis via pivot table or advanced excel spreadsheets
• Prepare monthly general ledger journal entries, ensuring proper coding, appropriate accruals are in place, and close
• Provide financial and operational analysis services for operations and internal departments
• Ability to multi-task and have flexible work hours in a dynamic work environment

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• B.S degree in accounting or finance
• 3-5 years in an accounting role
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, including functions such as v-lookup and pivot tables) required
• The ability to take on additional responsibilities in a small team environment
• Demonstrated ability to analyze account data and present findings
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills are necessary

• Pay range: $6,933 - $8,146/month based upon experience
