Summary
The Senior Accountant will support accounting related activities for Maxair's Service and Construction Lines of Businesses (LOBs) and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and corporate policies. The ideal candidate will possess a solid operational and technical accounting background and proactively work to drive results. A successful candidate will be goal-oriented and be able to work in a team-oriented collaborative environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Set-up Contracts, Jobs and Projects required for Job Costing and Project Accounting.
* Assist with billing and invoicing transactions.
* Assist with Accounts Payable disputes and issues.
* Responsible for Percentage of Completion and Work-in-Process Accounting for Service and Construction projects
* Ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting transactions.
* Perform month-end close tasks.
* Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations.
* Perform Revenue, Cost and Expense variance analysis.
* Generate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) reports for Management.
Required Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting
* 4+ years working as a Staff and/or Sr. Accountant
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Outlook & Word)
* Possess critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills.
* Strong attention to detail
* Excellent time-management skills
* Great interpersonal and communication skills
* CPA designation a plus
* Experience with Sage a plus
