SUMMARY

Provide applicable knowledge and experience to the financial reporting function of the organization’s accounting department. Working with the Manager of Financial Reporting, prepare all financial reports, filings, and analyses to support the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work on annual audit(s) and tax return(s) with external auditors, legal counsel, staff, and management
  • Prepare and maintain schedules pertaining to financial reporting that are free from errors or omissions
  • Manage project timelines and complete work within a reasonable time
  • Be actively involved with the internal documentation and testing of internal controls
  • Prepare thorough and accurate department- and project-related financial reports and analysis
  • Prepare periodic and annual budget reports and perform analysis
  • Participate with the finance team in the closing process
  • Lead on-going process improvement projects and documentation
  • Assist with special projects as needed

EDUCATION

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA License or actively working toward certification highly preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Public accounting experience required
  • 2-3 years of progressive experience in accounting
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required
  • Knowledge in Oracle and/or NetSuite a plus
  • Knowledge of audit testing and procedures and their associated purpose

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong attention to detail and analytical/problem solving skills. Strong written and oral communication skills required. Must demonstrate proven organization and project management skills, including ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects and activities while maintaining proper focus on major strategic initiatives. Ability to cope in a changing environment. Ability to interact with Finance and Non-Finance employees at all levels. Positive, enthusiastic “can do” attitude and work ethic. Serve as a positive influence within the Finance Division. This should be demonstrated through a positive and energetic outlook, an ability to eagerly develop professionally, a willingness to encourage a team environment and a fostering of ideas.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to analyze facts, arrive at alternative solutions, and provide acceptable recommendations.

The employee may be required to sit, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. During the Show, the employee may be required to frequently walk to various places on the grounds. The employee may be required to lift and/or move 15 or more pounds. Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.

Extended work hours required, especially during peak periods. The employee may be on feet for up to twelve hours per day during set-up and the Show.
