i3 is looking for a Senior Part Time2D Production Artist to help craft crisp 2D elements, detailed 2D diagrams and more for its Virtual Training, Simulation, and Gaming business.

 

As a Senior 2D Production Artist, you will be responsible for a variety of graphics used for digital products based in the Unity game engine. You will work with highly skilled and motivated delivery teams made of Software Engineers, 3D artists, ISDs, and Tech Leads to create 2D imagery for multi-platform, customer facing software - and have a blast doing it. It's energizing. And it's good work.

Responsibilities

i3's ideal candidate is responsible for supporting all kinds of design efforts of these digital products, validating their efforts with the Creative Director and other designers within Creative Operations regularly to accomplish this. They are responsible for the accurate implementation of their graphics and visual elements into the Unity game engine, as well, and work closely with the Software Engineers to ensure this.

 

Our ideal candidate workshops their efforts with the Creative Director and Creative Operations team weekly to ensure their designs and implementations are cohesive. They're cool to hang with critique and can pick up brand standards and iterate on them easily.

 

Our ideal also candidate has a portfolio that demonstrates the core competencies of a graphic designer. In fact, it is required that you submit an online portfolio and/or website of your work with your application.

 

While the best portfolios typically display a proficiency in graphic production and design, other efforts in motion graphics, branding and logomark design, high-profile print design, marketing projects with whiz-bang design efforts, collaborations with other folks, and video work all won't hurt.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with software engineers and other stakeholders.
• Craft simple static and/or motion graphics and ensure implementation by software engineers is solid.
• Prepare and help guide software engineers on the implementation of graphic elements into Unity.
• Regularly workshop efforts with the Creative Director and the Creative Operations team to maintain a cohesive design of the digital product and its graphic elements.
• Leverage design thinking and techniques to develop strategies where pathways are not always clear.

Qualifications

Required experience, skills, and traits:

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years' work experience in graphic design (such as illustration, motion graphics, typography and logo design, etc.).
• Working knowledge and skill in design tools, for example, Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, After Effects, and/or other Adobe Creative Suite products, as well as optional (but not required; see Preferred below) experience in Unity Game Engine
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage and provide understanding across audiences at various levels of understanding.
• Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.

Preferred experience, skills, and traits:

• Working knowledge and/or understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience outside illustration that demonstrates a variability of design skills.
• Understanding and appreciation of contemporary graphic design concepts.
• Understanding of foundational design principles and practices, typography and color.
• Portfolio requirements: Submit a resume and a link to a portfolio of work and/or website that shows your design chops.
