Field Support Engineer based in Austin, Texas! We are on the lookout for a dynamic team member to spearhead customer-facing technical support and contribute to the expansion of footprint in semiconductor fabs across Austin, the U.S., and globally. This role is a mixture of sales engineer, new product development, and field technical support. It encompasses pre-sales and post-sales responsibilities, ranging from identifying customer needs, defining new products, and guiding product development, to hands-on tasks like equipment installation and evaluations. And as we expand our technical training offerings as a product, you'll play a pivotal role in assisting the training department with content creation.
Under the guidance of the Director – Applications Engineering and Technical Support, you will champion engineering efforts, build enduring customer relationships at all levels, and enhance technical interactions. This position is instrumental in propelling projects forward within fabs and actively contributes to the creation of technical marketing and engineering documents, including white papers, technical sales presentations, installation procedures, application notes, and 8D reports.
Our primary processes / tools of interest are in PVD, CVD, Etch, RTP, and Epi.
Primary Responsibilities/Expectations:
· Product Line Support: Support the product line at your assigned fabs, including installation, troubleshooting, calibration, and general customer support.
· Technical Presentations: Collaborate with sales to deliver compelling technical presentations to prospective customers.
· CIP Product Opportunities: Work closely with customers to identify Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) opportunities, guide them through development, and ensure commercial success.
· Beta Testing and Evaluations: Oversee Beta testing and customer product evaluations, ensuring successful completion.
· Data Collection: Collect product field performance data to support sales, product improvement, and marketing efforts.
· Training Modules: Consult with our training department to develop and deliver various tool training modules to customers.
· Global Support: Travel occasionally to other regions worldwide to support various activities and customers.
Education and Experience
· Qualifications: A.S. or B.S. in engineering or a related technical field.
· Experience: 7+ years of experience in semiconductor equipment, either in customer support or as a fab engineer.
· Expertise: Good general knowledge of wafer handling robotics, with hands-on experience in LAM, TEL, or AMAT being a plus.
· Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including command of the English language.
· Relationship Building: Ability to independently establish and maintain relationships with customers and co-workers.
