Selector/Palletizer- Freezer

2nd Shift

Pay starts at $18.50 per hour plus shift differential and cooler premiums

2nd Shift: 5:00PM - 1:00AM or Finished (Sunday- Thursday)

Summary: The Warehouse Selector/Palletizer is responsible for accurate and efficient selection of products in our warehouse. The Warehouse Selector is also responsible for the proper preparation of shipments to our customers from the warehouse. The Warehouse Selector /Palletizer also focuses on the quality unloading of all totes, full cases, and coolers. It also ensures that they are properly palletized by route and stop number. The Palletizer makes certain that pallets are orderly and properly built prior to being loaded.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Efficiently sort totes and distribute to pick modules according to category.
• Assist No-Read lane.
• Double up cases in palletizing lanes.
• Assist pallet pullers.
• Condense cases and remove empty pallets.
• Cleanup work area including palletizing lanes during shift and at the end of shift.
• Communicate with management regarding mechanical issues with the lanes
• Other duties as assigned.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean work environment, which may include picking up trash or cleaning spills.
• Other duties may be assigned to fulfill DPI’s objectives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: The employee must be proficient in basic math skills. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Freight packing experience is preferred. Experience as a certified powered industrial truck (PIT) operator is preferred. Employees must be able to be certified for PIT operation by DPI.

Work Environment: The work environment is indoors. The floors may be concrete. Moderate noise levels occur in the warehouse with powered industrial truck horns operating for safety.

Work Hours: The work schedule is 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. Work hours and shifts are subject to change depending on operating business conditions and needs. The employee may be required to work overtime, holidays,s or weekends.

Physical and Mental Demands: Medium to heavy, with occasional exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently. On an infrequent basis, the employee lifts to 55 pounds of bulk product. This may not occur daily. This job also requires constant standing and walking. The employee must know and follow proper safety protocols; know and follow DPI grooming, hygiene,e, and dress code standards; know and apply principles of truck weight distribution, product load,s and spatial relations to effectively and safely stage products for loading; perform basic mathematic functions to calculate load staging.
