Reporting Relationship- Program Director
Position Summary: The Security Supervisor reports to the Program Director, directing the facility's 24-hour program in accordance with Hoyt St. Residence policies and procedures; supervise security guards; facilitates and coordinates staff communication and the transfer of information on and between shifts and with other facility units; respond to emergency conditions in the facility.
SHIFTS: 8-4 pm, 4pm 12 am, 12 am 8 am

Supervise security staff by following up on their specific assignments and ensuring enforcement of the policies, procedures, rules/regulations and appropriate duties
Develop and implement plans for on-going security staff training and development
Review and advise safety related policies and procedures
Serve as Fire and Safety Director, overseeing all safety related matters, including:
o Evacuation procedures
o Enforcement of rules and regulations
o Liaison with police, fire department and other law enforcement agencies
o Schedule, conduct and document fire drills
Ensure the facility is maintained in a good state of repair and sanitation and in conformance with applicable State and local laws, regulations and ordinances in order to assure a safe, comfortable environment for staff and residents
Work with the Program Director to develop plans of correction for deficiencies identified as a result of fire drills, fire inspections, building inspections, etc
Ensure preparation and timely delivery of monthly reports and any other required documentation
Hold regular monthly security staff meetings to ensure proper communication; attend scheduled staff and supervisory meetings
Conducts work related functions with staff, clients and others, in a professional manner
Comply with AAPCI policies and procedures
Maintain professional growth and responsibilities
Perform other related duties as may be requested.
Minimal Qualifications:
Degree Requirement: Associate degree with at least five (5) years of supervisory experience working in a residential setting.
Valid Certified Fire Safety Coordinator License (F-80)
Essential (Physical) Job Requirements:
- The person in this position needs to move about inside the shelter facility to access office machinery, file cabinets, training materials, access meetings rooms, etc.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position about 50%.
- Constantly operates a computer, phone, and printer.
- Frequently communicates with social service staff to exchange accurate information, updates, convey, changes pertaining to each client.
- Must be able to assess and observe changes in activities of daily living.
Other Qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated knowledge, experience or capacity to work with the homeless populations.
